Wrong Turn

In this gruesome horror flick, Chris Finn (Desmond Harrington) is on his way to a job interview when he gets stuck in a traffic jam caused by a jackknifed semi. In a desperate attempt to get around the congestion, he heads down a backwoods road and comes upon an SUV with five young people (Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jeremy Sisto, Kevin Zegers, Lindy Booth and Eliza Dushku). Unable to stop in time, Chris collides with them. It turns out the SUVs tires were slashed by barbed wire strung across the road, the work of pranksters they think. In an attempt to find help, they end up going deeper into the wilderness and come across a mountain cabin filled with hideous hunting weapons. They discover its inhabitants to be a trio of beastly looking mountain men Three-Finger, Saw-Tooth and One-Eye who apparently set traps for people and kill them. The search for a phone soon turns into a fight for survival.

Filled with bloody body parts and mutilated corpses, this is one film we could do without. One by one, the six young people are killed in repulsive ways shot, stabbed, cut in pieces, strangled by barbed wire until two are left. The film contains no moral or positive message other than be sure to take a map with you on a road trip and stay away from the West Virginia backwoods. It also contains rough language and some marijuana usage. The only thing this viewer found more disturbing than the film is that people brought small children with them to the theater to see it. Preview warns you not to make this very wrong turn. This film has no value for anyone at any age.
