Four years after graduating from high school, Dean (Justin Long) still passes his time as a hard-working waiter at Shenanigans restaurant in this so-called comedy. But when an old friend comes through town after graduating from college, Dean begins to doubt whether he should spend any more of his life in such a dead-end job. While Dean struggles with his personal crisis of direction, his roommate and coworker, Monty (Ryan Reynolds), is busy training the new guy, Mitch (John Francis Daley), as a waiter. Monty demonstrates all the disgusting ways that the waiters take revenge against customers, and he teaches Mitch how to take part in a vulgar game that the restaurant staff plays. And Monty also eyes all of the beautiful young women in Shenanigans, hoping that he can entice some of them home to one of his nightly parties for beer, drugs and sex.

Although Ryan Reynolds is an extremely talented comedic actor, he has made his career by being shocking and offensive in some of the most worthless and disgusting films ever made for mainstream audiences. But in Waiting, he goes much, much too far. Lacking any real plot, the film chooses instead to makes a mockery of sexuality. It includes innumerable jokes about promiscuity, unconventional sex, and sex with minors. At one point, Reynolds character is even shown hitting on several high-school girls, who later make it to one of his raucous parties. Meanwhile, all of the male employees in the restaurant, and eventually some of the women, make a game out of showing each other their genitals. Finally, the film abuses viewers with an incessant barrage of vile language. In Previews estimation, Waiting has to be one of the worst films of the year. Avoid it.
