Hugh Jackman, Rila Fukushima. Action/horror. Written by Mark Bomback. Directed by James Mangold.

FILM SYNOPSIS: Summoned to Japan by an old acquaintance, Wolverine becomes embroiled in a conflict that forces him to confront his own demons.

PREVIEW REVIEW: 126 minutes! Gone with the Wind, maybe. Patton, okay. But 126 minutes of The Wolverine? Of course, that may be the drawing card for followers of the genre. That, and the copious amounts of violent activity that occurs over that 126 minutes.

There are positives to be said for the look, the acting, and the dimension brought to this latest screen version the legendary Marvel creation. I mostly enjoyed it. And I appreciated that no one profaned Godís name. But the carnage began to repeat, much like greasy food on a queasy stomach.

Summary
The following categories contain objective listings of film content which contribute to the subjective numeric Content ratings posted to the left and on the Home page.

Crude Language: None

Obscene Language: Around 10 obscenities and expletives, mostly the s-word, with the lead getting mad (he gets mad a lot) and uses the f-word once.

Profanity: I caught no misuse of Godís name or Christís.

Violence: Wall-to-wall action that includes shootings, stabbings, beatings, explosions, gory visuals, and seemingly indestructible good guys vs. bad guys

Sex: It is implied that the lead sleeps with a woman, but we do not see any graphic sexuality.

Nudity: Very brief nude backside of a man being bathed in a Japanese bathhouse; we see a man cavorting with two scantily clad prostitutes, but it does not become graphic; the lead villainess dresses provocatively.

Sexual Dialogue/Gesture: None

Drugs: Brief drinking.

Other: None

Running Time: 126 minutes
Intended Audience: Action fans
